Women are important to the health of our families and our community, and the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving is proud to again support women in the Irving community by welcoming Dr. Frans Beltran, our new OB/GYN. Dr. Beltran brings a wealth of experience in helping women in all phases of life receive quality care and in providing services to address Women’s Health needs in the community.
Dr. Beltran began her career in medicine at Barnard College of Columbia University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated with honors. She was a Howard Hughes Fellow in the Biology and Neuroscience Department. She then attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed her residency in OB/GYN at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
During her time at Penn State, she was awarded a grant to study the effect of statins on ovarian cancer, and she presented her findings at the Annual Clinical Scientific Meeting of the American College of OB/GYN. She received extensive training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as well as in DaVinci Robotic surgery. As a resident, Dr. Beltran also participated in the World Surgical Foundation professional society and conducted mission work in underserved countries. She also served in the ACOG District 3 Junior Fellow Board and lobbied for increased access to postpartum depression care and for better legislation on opioid access in medical care. To better accommodate her patients, Dr. Beltran is fluent in Spanish and Tagalog.
The Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving welcomes Dr. Beltran to our team of medical professionals. Having served the North Texas area for more than six decades, our North Texas medical clinic always strives to offer exceptional care and service. To learn more about our OB/GYN services, click here.
