Dr. Jaya Grandhi specializes in nephrology, particularly acute renal failure, hypertension, nephrolithiasis, acute glomerulonephritis, peritoneal dialysis and chronic kidney disease. Before joining the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving in 2013, Dr. Grandhi worked at a private practice in Buffalo, New York. Her past experience includes time spent at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI, and a member of the faculty of Wayne State University. In addition to Dr. Grandhi’s work experience, she has also conducted research at the Strong Memorial Hospital/URMC and Karmanos Cancer Institute/Wayne State University, as well as delivering a number of presentations on nephrology-related subjects.
Dr. Grandhi started her career by receiving her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Grandhi Medical College and Hospital in Hyderabad, India. From there, Dr. Grandhi started her Internal Medicine residency at Sinai-Grace Hospital/Detroit Medical Center at Wayne State University. Once she completed her residency, she was a Nephrology Fellow at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
The Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving is the first clinic in Texas Dr. Grandhi has worked at. She joins as the clinic’s first nephrologist and is eager to work with patients in the Dallas/Fort-Worth Metroplex.
Dr. Grandhi also works at our Irving, TX clinic’s kidney stone clinic. The clinic aims to help those who are suffering from kidney stones or recurrent kidney stones. Kidney stones can be extremely painful and cause complications; in fact, it is estimated that kidney stones cost more than $5 billion dollars every year in medical expenses. Our kidney stone clinic combines urology and nephrology to offer comprehensive and integrated support for those suffering from kidney stones.
