Dr. J. Douglas Overbeck specializes in Cardiology and has served the Irving and Las Colinas communities since 1989. A sports medicine and cardiovascular consultant for the Dallas Mavericks and a recognized “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly, Dr. Overbeck delivers cutting edge technology and exceptional service to all of his patients.
A native of Dallas, Dr. Overbeck graduated from Texas A&M. He then received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After finishing his studies, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He completed a Cardiovascular Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and has been in the practice of Cardiology since 1989. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Cardiovascular Diseases.
A leader in the field, Dr. Overbeck previously served as Chief of Medicine at Baylor Medical Center in Irving, Texas as well as Founding Chairman of Internal Medicine at Las Colinas Medical Center also in Irving, Texas, where he was instrumental in developing the hospital’s cardiovascular program. He has also served on the hospital’s Board of Directors.
During his years in practice as a Cardiologist, Dr. Overbeck has developed a program that is both personalized and patient-friendly. As Dr. Overbeck explains, “Medicine is an art that requires an experienced physician to customize treatment programs to the individual.” Dr. Overbeck is interested in preventive cardiology and all aspects of interventional cardiology to include coronary angioplasty, coronary stenting, and minimally-invasive radiofrequency treatment of varicose veins. Dr. Overbeck’s focus is not only treating patients, but educating them on how to maintain a heart healthy life.
Dr. Overbeck is the founder of Tuscan Cardiovascular Center & Vein Center in Las Colinas, Tuscan Vein Clinic in Granbury, and Tuscan Vein Clinic in Stephenville, all affiliates of Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving.
