Dr. Maria De Jesus is a member of the neurology team and brings her experience to the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving. Educated in both the Philippines and the United States, Dr. De Jesus has dedicated her life to helping patients achieve better health since 1986. Her arrival at MSCI is another chapter in her healthcare career.
Dr. De Jesus began her journey in medicine in the Philippines, where she received her bachelor degree of science in physical therapy as well as her doctor of medicine and surgery from the University of Santo Tomas. From there, Dr. De Jesus began her extensive post-graduate training, where she gained invaluable experience, first during her rotating internship, then as the Director of Physical Therapy in Astor Gardens Nursing Home in New York. She then received a neurology residency at New York Medical College, and eventually became chief resident at the program.
After completing her residency, Dr. De Jesus served as a consulting neurologist for a number of practices. She then worked at the Cabrini Medical Center as an attending neurologist, as well as an attending neurologist at the Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester. Her work eventually brought her to Texas, where she worked as an attending neurologist at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas, and then later at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. She now joins MSCI and specializes in neurological services.
Dr. De Jesus is a member of a number of prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Physical Therapy Association.
