Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Gerald Edelman specializes in the field of Medical Hematology and Oncology. He studied at the University of Denver and received his B.A. degree in Biology, while also being inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. After completing his undergraduate coursework, Dr. Edelman went on to study at the University of Southern California in the field of Cellular and Molecular Biology. He received his Ph.D. and finished his thesis entitled The Integration Properties of an Oncogenic DNA Virus.
For his medical degree Dr. Edelman returned to Colorado and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. There, he graduated with honors in 1985 and entered the internship program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He also chose the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for his residency program.
A member of a number of professional societies, including the Texas Medical Society and American Society of Clinical Oncology, Dr. Edelman is a proud member of the team at the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving.
