Robert Whitaker, M.D. Opth.

Dr. Robert Whitaker, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and served the needs of patients at the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving from 1994 until 2016. His primary focus was cataract surgery, while he also treated patients suffering from other various eye diseases, such as glaucoma.

Dr. Whitaker, MD earned his degree at the University of Illinois College of medicine before going on to complete both his internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After completing two years in the army at Fort Rucker, he moved to Irving, Texas. The first half of his career was at the Dallas Medical and Surgical Clinic near downtown Baylor Hospital. From 1994 until 2016, he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology as a member of the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving with his office adjacent to Baylor Irving Hospital.

 

Dr. Whitaker offered a number of services to help patients see better and maintain their eye health. From eye examinations to glaucoma treatment, Dr. Whitaker worked with patients of all ages to help them enjoy clear vision. Dr. Whitaker also performed minor in-office surgeries, including drainage of styes, removal of growths on lids, removal of foreign bodies, and lacrimal duct probes. Now retired, Dr. Whitaker encourages patients seeking ophthalmology services to contact Dr. Vipin Kuriachan.
