Whitney Leigh Chouteau, DO - Medical Surgical Clinic of Irving

Dr. Whitney Leigh Chouteau joins the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving as a pain management physician. Her experience helping patients deal with and manage chronic pain is an invaluable service to patients in North Texas. Chronic pain can be debilitating, and Dr. Chouteau aims to help patients enjoy a more comfortable life through the latest techniques and treatments.

Chronic pain is associated with a number of conditions, such as osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis, joint pains, sprains, lower back pain and more. Dr. Chouteau has experience treating patients suffering from pain from all of these conditions and more.

Our Irving pain management physician started her career in medicine at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Afterwards, she attended the osteopathy program at Kansas City University of Medical and Biosciences. After returning to Texas, she had her residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. While there, she also received a fellowship in interventional pain management, as well as served as Academic Chief Resident. Her performance earned her a number of awards and commendations, including best research award and best resident research presentation.

During the course of her career, Dr. Chouteau appeared in a number of presentations and abstracts. She is currently board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition, she is a member of the North American Spine Society, the International Spinal Injection Society, the Dallas Fort/Worth PM&R Society, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
